Park Point

The subtle display of Lake Superior’s raw power under the morning glow. I had saw this pocket of icy scenery along park point and it grabbed my attention immediately. The lake was becoming very tempermental and wasn’t shy about showing it off. While making my way along the shoreline, I was cautious with the ice that was beginning to crack under the intense waves. The lake was claiming the ice and bergs for itself. This berg that I witnessed was slowly being chipped away by the waves. I knew timing was key to capture this element of natural wonder.
Once the sunlight had emerged, it revealed the subtle sea smoke under the cold temperatures. This too, was a key element of what made this scene so powerful to me. This Great Lake amazes me every single day. It can go from glassy calm into a violent rage within a blink of an eye. Mother Nature was showing off on this beautiful morning with of her power.
