Raw natural beauty in the dead of winter.
As soon as I stepped out of my car, I was greeted to an adult bald eagle flying directly above me making its way to the lake.The high winds along the North Shore were brutal but there was zero signs of that here.
The winds had died down and I felt a major sense of peace here.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen hollow rock under the winter conditions and I was excited to get back to capture the moment. The blue ice stood out under the morning light as the sky began to become rather moody yet calm.
I took my time composing this image to capture a sense of winter along the North Shore. Lake Superior has this transformational vibe that it brings during the winter months.
