Frozen Labyrinth

Shovel Point ( Tettegouche State Park )

Silver Bay, Minnesota

After a recent heavy snowstorm that turned Minnesota’s North Shore into a winter wonderland, I wanted to make a plan to venture up to shovel point to capture the magic of nature’s wrath along the shoreline. Huge waves and snow created this majestic scenery of what once was a dense boreal forrest now covered in ice covered trees that were overwhelmed by the heavy snowfall.

There was some warmer days that arrived and I didn’t want to miss the experience of witnessing this with my own eyes. The hike to get there was a bit challenging. The snow and ice made the trail a bit difficult in some spots but I kept pushing forward to the reward that was to come.

Once I arrived, I was overwhelmed by the whole view. Tons of trees just folded over and a whole new world was created by nature herself. I had to comb the scenery for what strongly caught my eye here. It felt like a labyrinth walking through it all. The sunlight was creating this otherworldly feeling that words can’t describe. I saw this scene I had to capture it. I had forgot that I was still in Minnesota when I was here.

What a way to spend a winter day along the North Shore of Minnesota.
