Pie Island

While most who’ve visited the Thunder Bay area are drawn to the Sleeping Giant, I’ve been more drawn to the towering mesa known as Pie Island. When I saw this natural beauty under the winter conditions, I was blown away. I wanted something to capture that feeling of awe under the lighting conditions, I knew that a cruise around the area would help give me a better perspective.
I noticed this foreground of land and wanted to frame it to give a sense of depth and scale. Pie Island is truly something that you don’t expect to see along the shores of Lake Superior and its majestic beauty truly captures the eye immediately.
Truly…..a winter dream.
